itc Stage Machinery Solution Unlocks Precision, Safety, and Intelligence

As the digital tide reshapes the performing arts, modern technology is redefining the boundaries of live performance. Stage lighting, stage machinery, and digital projection work together to deliver immersive experiences. itc, with over 30 years of stage design expertise as an AV integrator, brings artistic vision and technical innovation together to unveil the mechanical heart of modern theatre.

Classification of Stage Machinery

01 By spatial location
Commonly categorized into on-stage equipment, under-stage equipment, and auditorium equipment, including fire safety equipment, stage curtains, lighting equipment, lift platforms, stage wagons, and turntables.

02 By function or characteristic
Divided into equipment used directly or indirectly for performances, for altering theater configurations, and for ensuring performance safety. This includes motorized battens, lighting battens, main and secondary curtain machines, lighting cages, fire curtains, fixed single-point hoists, double-point hoists, lifting LED screen frames, revolving booms, sliding/rotating doors, revolving lifting auditorium, curved lifting platforms, curved battens, etc.
03 By motion type
Categorized into lifting, hoisting, rotating, traversing, and compound motion machinery. This includes lifting platforms, wagons, battens, etc.

itc Stage Machinery Overall Solution

itc stage machinery overall solution leverages modern PROFINET communication, PLC programming, electrical components, and installation accessories for batten lifting and curtain automation. Simultaneously, it integrates stage curtains, lighting, audio, video, rigging, seating, and monitoring systems, making it fully applicable to performance environments in various cultural venues.

Motorized Batten
Used above the main stage or other stage zones to lift scenery and curtains. Support individual operation as well as combined multi-unit operation.
Lighting Batten
Installed above the stage and parallel to the proscenium can be hidden above the stage when not in use, freeing up stage space. When needed, it descends quickly, enabling precise adjustment of lighting fixture height and angle to meet complex lighting demands. Equipped with overload protection, emergency braking systems, and device locking to prevent accidental descent, ensuring the safety of performers and equipment.
Draw Curtain Machine
Located above the proscenium, it supports horizontal, vertical, and inclined-opening modes for curtain raising and traversing, facilitating scene division and spatial reconfiguration within a performance. The mechanized process ensures smooth, stable, and efficient operation.
Acoustic Shell
Stored above the stage or on the rear floor and assembled at the proscenium when needed to create improved natural acoustics for the venue.
Water-Based Low Fog Machine
Typically installed above the stage, on sides, or in corners, with ground foggers placed low on the floor. It can rapidly alter the stage environment, creating mysterious, dreamy, or romantic atmospheres, making performances more captivating. Additionally, the haze causes light refraction and scattering, producing unique lighting effects.
Stage Curtains

Stage curtains are generally categorized into main curtains, second curtains, legs, cycloramas, and fire curtains. They provide spatial separation, scene transition, visual enhancement, concealment, and protection. For example, the fire curtain, located above the proscenium arch, features fire and smoke insulation. In case of fire, it can descend automatically or manually to separate the auditorium from the performance area, interlocking with the EVAC system.
Performance Lifting Platform
The lifting platform is a crucial piece of stage machinery, primarily used to achieve vertical movement of stage sections during performances to meet various performance requirements and stage effects. Through lifting, the stage floor can be shaped into flat levels, steps, tilts, and other forms, enriching the visual layers of the stage.

Application in Smart Theaters

Expand Narrative Space
Construction Effect: Mechanical technology breaks the traditional stage planar constraints, creating floating, tilted, or folded spaces that enable seamless one-shot visuals and enhance dramatic continuity.

Enhance Emotional Expression
Construction Effect: Precise control of speed, position, rhythm, and force allows mechanical devices to match dramatic pacing and emotion, increasing theatrical tension.

Create Immersive Spectacle
Construction Effect: In large-scale performances, the coordinated operation of complex machinery delivers breathtaking visuals. Safety, precision, and integration are the technical foundations of modern stagecraft. The core value of stage machinery lies in serving artistic creation. As a benchmark enterprise in the stage machinery integration field, itc leverages 30+ years of technical expertise to drive innovation and expand possibilities for artistic creation. Blending technology and art, itc continues to lead the field, advancing manufacturing and integration standards and supporting the cultural sector's growth.
